Tramadol is used in general to relieve various types of moderate pain. Again it is also used for the treatment of pain caused by surgery and chronic conditions that includes cancer or joint pain. If you are over 75 years of age, you may be more likely to experience side effects from Tramadol. The maximum daily dose of Tramadol for people over 75 years of age is 300 mg.

  Tramadol side effects though not common, can occur. If you suffer from migraine, speech disorders, gastrointestinal bleeding, hepatitis, stomatitis, liver failure, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, blurred vision, upset stomach, vomiting, and diarrhea consult the doctor immediately. On the contrary, if there is any overdose seek emergency medical attention. Lastly refrain from taking alcohol while using this medication. Also avoid tranquilizers, sedatives, and antihistamines, unless advised by your doctor.
